Protective Edge Training was created by Police Chief Paul Brentar to teach people the essential skills needed to prevail during a self-defense encounter with a pistol. We not only focus on “real world of work” skills but also on the mindset needed to prevail during such encounters. A handgun is the most likely firearm that you will have with you during a self-defense encounter, which is why we focus our training courses on it.
Chief Brentar has over 20 years of law enforcement experience and is a state certified firearms instructor. He is also an Active Shooter Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Glock armorer, and an AR-15 armorer. He serves as an adjunct instructor at the local police academy in firearms and defensive tactics as well.
He is a graduate of classes put on by Handgun Combatives, Modern Samurai Project and is also an RDS (Red Dot Sight) pistol instructor through Sage Dynamics.
